P5436 was one of 80 Hampdens built by Canadian Associated Aircraft between September 1940 and August 1941. It was operating with RCAF 32 OTU, based at Patricia Bay, when on Nov 15, 1942, at 11:35 it crashed into the water in Saanich inlet after a practice torpedo run.
