HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. Mask Rider

Happy Birthday Chris and many more to come. And simply thank you for all the years of your experience that you have shared with all of us. :salute:

Hey, thanks very much guys! I appreciate the kind thoughts and words. We've had a lot of fun together around here over the years, so the "Thank you!"s go both ways!

I gave myself a very special birthday present this year- busted my collar bone- ouch! Just got home from the emergency room. :birthday2

Happy Birthday Chris, and many more.

Busted bones must be going around. I spent today at the hospital with my son who had a plate and 7 screw put into his ankle to fix a break from slipping on ice. Ouch for both of you. Hope you heal up quickly!

Once again: "Thank you", to all!

PS and BTW Kurt, your son's ordeal reminds me how lucky I was- hope he heals up smoothly. My daughter- who was out here for the holidays- drove me around and got things handled for me. After the ER we went to all-night CVS Pharm and got prescriptions filled and then to Wendy's for some chow- about 2AM. Oddly enough, it was actually one of the funnest/nicest days we have spent together in a while!

Chris,

It's an old saying but it's true that sometimes even the darkest cloud can have a silver lining.

Thanks and get better.

Kurt

As I've been sitting here in the midst of a cfs2 download frenzy the last couple of days, it occured me that it's all Chris's fault!! I was remembering a day or night quite a few years ago now, and I was looking ariound for some add-ons for cfs2 scenery and stubled on one of the earlier MR fields...I forget which one. Anyway, because at the time I knew absolutely nothing about installing stuff I think I had to strike up an email conversation with Chris to get it all to look right and once I did, I was astounded that a computer(game)(we all know it's a SIM and not a (Game)) could be so cool, so naturally I strted installing everything I could and in those days, I think I was running Win98, it really put a strain on the machine. But it was that first MR field that got me truly hooked.Along the way, I stumbled on SOH
and have been hanging around ever since....it's one of the most consistent aspects of my life being around SOH second only to the time I've been married to my sim-friendly wife(kinda).
Now I'm lookin forward to installing all this stuff over again. It will probably take me a week or so to get up and running and I'm saving all files to DVD.
A footnote...I got started on this flightsim journey by a guy who was a drummer in some band I played with on Maui who lent me a copy of CFS2 so I could check it out. I had no joystick and as I say, the machine was Win98.....but I had a little fun and investigated further
and got a stick and then chris's field appeared and that was that.
So, Thanks Chris and all the guys here at SOH.....it's really been a blast. middle

Happy birthday Chris :icon29:
I hope the best for your (older) bones

Aaaahhh, yes. Thanks for dropping by and sharing you thoughts guys.

Yes, CFS2 and all of the great friends and colleague I have made as a result of spending $49 will always have a special place in my heart. What a terrific hobby and gravity point for so many different people from so many different walks of life. Lots of fun- never a dull moment.

Back in Spring 2001, I had never done ANY gaming. I had ordered a new computer from a little storefront here where I live. Just before walking out the door with it, I ask what game or program they would recommend that would really put my new machine thru its paces. One of the guys said "CFS2". And the rest....

Cheers,
MR
