"Happy Oz Day" To Our Aussie Friends!

Pretty typical Australia Day weekend, Queensland is in the grip of a cyclonic rain depression, complete with flooding rains, storm surges, king tides and mini-tornadoes, while further down in New South Wales and Victoria the battle against numerous bushfires continues!!
Same old same old, but we'll get through as usual.
Thanks for the thought Ed.

Happy Oz day to my various relatives there :australia: - also to a certain Mr A. Murray who is having a sporting day in Oz right now - hopefully a celebration ! :scotland:

Thanks people. Don't worry Wombat we won't be greedy, we are sending down the coast a heap of cyclonic stuff after a long dry and hot summer....it's very rough up this way at the moment

We can really use it Tony, the fires around Licola are almost impossible to fight!
A good solid dump of H2O would be most welcome.
Hope you're still 'feet dry'.

sheeesh i wished ya well too......... whimpers....i have a chat friend who lives in Alaska, owns an air carrier company up there...he purchased a Erickson S64 with a tank and he has been in Australia for awhile now flying fires,my Cal Fire friend who is a HFEO (heavy fire equipment operator,IE bull dozer)was notified he was going to be "leased",,,he was upset about that word...i got a kick out of that...to the fire service..or rural bush service?.....but as he was an hour from boarding the plane...he got canceled..one of the things he was most upset about.....he wanted to see some aussie sprint car racing while there.....he was my teammate back in the 80s when we were supposed to go to austrailia to race and our carhauler was stolen in longbeach before it was loaded on a ship...never recovered anything from it..and our owner just quit..
