Hi,

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy thanksgiving!

Ours got off to an early start...my mom found out today when she went into the hospital this morning for a tissue type that she will be getting a kidney transplant within the next twenty-four hours, despite being on the transplant list only twenty-two days. She's home with us until a bed opens up at the hospital, then she will be going in this evening and have the transplant either late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

To say we are all shocked, elated, giddy, and a little nervous is an understatement. We decided if she's not at our table tomorrow, we'll leave a can of kidney beans on the table so she'll be with us in spirit. :costumed-smiley-034

Happy Thanksgiving folks!

Every year when this comes up it reminds me of good times I had working in and living near Harwich, Essex. On the old town hall, at the quayside, near to the Navyard Wharf is this below plaque. It made me smile that a small boat and crew from there help start what the US has become today, a great bit history....

Cheers

Good evening everyone,

It's been a long but good day. Mom went in for her transplant surgery at 8:30am, and came out of surgery just before 2:30pm. The surgery went well, and she'll spend several more days recovering and going through a battery of tests.

I hope your Thanksgivings all went well, and you were also able to enjoy wonderful food and family. :santahat:
