If you are like me and like to fly at dusk or late at night, you may want to try some lights.
I took the liberty of modifying some of the settings in the aircraft.cfg with my own:
[lights]//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -36.5, 0, 4.3, fx_navwhi
light.1 = 3, -1.2, -37.0, 3.7, fx_navred
light.2 = 3, -1.2, 37.0, 3.7, fx_navgre
light.3 = 2, -2.8, -37.3, 3.7, fx_strobe
light.4 = 2, -2.8, 37.3, 3.7, fx_strobe
//light.5 = 2, -3.87, 0, -3.75, fx_strobe
light.6 = 1, -10, 0, 5.7, fx_shockwave_beaconh
light.7 = 1, -12, 0, -3.0, fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red
light.8 = 4, 3, 0, 3.5, fx_vclightaero
light.9 = 5, -1, 19.05, 0.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old
light.10 = 5, -1, -19.05, 0.5, fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old
Just replace the [lights] section with the above. These work best if you have the shockwave lights, of course. I like a mixture of shockwave and default lights. Other than the addition of landing and nav lights, and replacing the beacons, I did reposition the VC lighting for better effect on my setup. And I repositioned the stobes on the wing tips although they do not show in the picture above (ever try to capture a shot of a strobe light?).
I don't know if the positions are 100% accurate or not, but they do look good. I've removed light 5 as its right in the middle of the bomb bay doors. Anyways, the Harpoon is a WIP and these lights will keep me flying until the final is released.
