harrier

I am looking for a harrier or F-35 ( but would prefer a harrier ) with Vtol capabilities for FS2004 , preferably with a good VC . so far, all the models I have found had Stol capabilities but nothing close to Vto .
anyone knows of one ?
thanks in advance .l

The best Harrier was the Iris/Sigma version which is no longer available sadly. Using Rob Barendregt's vtol gauge make it hover very well with excellent transition capability. The Iris F-35 is not bad although the VC is dated it too can be set up with Rob Barendregt's vtol gauge. Hopefully a new Harrier will appear down the line or maybe the Sigma version will reappear.

Rob Barendregt's rcbhc-15.zip is for Adam Preece's GR.7 Harrier. I am quite sure it's still available.

UKMIL took that Alphasim FS9 Freeware Harrier and updated it with Ron's VTOL package and re-released it as freeware with a boatload of new skins as well.:ernae: It is a compleat package with all the work done for you, just unzip and go. I believe it is still available at Simviation.

I prefer the DSB Harrier and the scenery by Manfred Schyma (Harrier hides) available at AVSIM. This Scenery is near Gütersloh in germany and includes a full Harrier airbase with AI traffic.

It's still available in many model variants over at UKMIL.
There are FSX versions, too.

I may be wrong, but it appears that the UKMIL Harriers are VC-less (yea I know one set has a "very basic" VC but for me that's the same as no VC). IRIS has posted a "coming soon" banner for their "Classics" (freeware) and I'll wait for that instead. I had the original payware version but lost it to one of many HD crashes.

thanks for the ( many ) responses :ernae: .
i'll look into all of these .
that last screenshot looks amazing .

OH BOY!!!:jump::jump::jump::jump::jump:
I found my original Sigma Harrier. . .yes. . .I had it saved on a CD that I found in a box with some other old CD's. This baby is by far the best Harrier out there, even without the VTOL magic supplied by Rob and his magnificent gauge. An excellent VC as well. . .happy happy happy happy!!:applause::applause:

looks a bit overly exaggerated on the panel lines and dirt, tone them down a touch and thats a winner!

Hi Mate:

ya Its an edited screenshot using tonal contrast, which usually defines the paint more and brings out slightly darker patch's... :)

jagl04: Yeah! A real AV-8B II+ ! Please keep us informed. Will there be an AV-8B II, also?

Up to my knowledge it will be only the AV8B+, mainly for FSX, but nearly sure for FS9 also (I´ve seen several FS9 tests). Probably only with Spanish Armada paintscheme, sinceit is being developed by a virtual base of Rota team. The model will be available when the cockpit is finished. I will keep you informed

This is th beta for FS9

not keen on the AV8 but that looks quite good actually, i'm more of a SHAR Person. gotta love practicing deck launches at Yeovilton on the ramp :jump: nozzles fully aft, race towards the ramp, clear the end with the nozzles transiting to 45 degrees, start climbout and acceleration and bring the nozzles back, very hands on to fly the thing :wiggle:
