• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Having map/crash issues

What did I do now? I used to be able to fly somewhere, pull down the world/map window, copy the aircaft coordinates to the tower, and go back to flying from a new vantage point. No more, at least in the UK. When I switch to tower view it picks up the nearest airport (I have auto tower).
And I just did a test trying to drag myself to a new place using the little black airplane shown on the map (again in UK) but when the map came up FS crashed. Tried several other countries and only happens in the UK, and not always but when it does it is only there. No new sceneries or meshes there either.

Would this be a module thing perhaps? FSUIPC? Am I overdue for a re-install?
 
Had same thing happen

Aeromed I had the same thing happen in the same area ,when I clicked on "Help" at the top menu ,then "About Microsoft Flight Simulator" ,it said my install was corrupted. I had installed some free ware scenery of the channel islands ,,and that was the problem. Unfortunately (for me) simply uninstalling the scenery didn't fix the problem,I had to do a complete reinstall to fix the corrupted files.
Needless to say I didn't use this scenery again and all was ok when I reinstalled.At least I think that caused the problem cause I installed some different scenery for the islands and the problem hasn't recured.(knock on wood).
Not saying this is your problem but I bet there is some scenery conflict in that area.
Anyway thats my two cents worth ,hope you are able to resolve the problem.
