Hawk T1/A Advanced Trainer (MSFS) - v2 Update

Has anyone tried it in FS24 yet? I had looked at this when it first came out for FS20, but never took the plunge. I love jet trainers (even more so than fighters), and the Hawk has always been a favorite.

Yep, only for 10 mins, but it does seem to be a nice plane to fly with the updates to the original model. But, it can still challenge you getting the trim right

Plenty of skins come with it and of course the weapons can be displayed.

A job well done

Can't say about '24, but I've flown it in 2020 and this update is brilliant! Love the sounds!

What about the IFT T-45C Goshawk ?

Simmarket says that it's compatible with MSFS2024... I think it's great in MSFS2020. Not tried in 2024. Other than the Hawk 'is typical English' and the Goshawk 'is typical American carrier based' are there much other differences between the two to warrant having them both in your hangar ?

First flight of the Hawk 1974 (BAE), first flight of the Goshawk 1991 (BAE/MD). Would that mean two different birds sporting the same feathers ?

I.o.w. you'd want the Just Flight Hawk T1 and the IFT T-45C Goshawk as well ? (in 2024)

Thanks!

I own the T-45 already. It's nice, but I've never really connected with it, and the JF Hawk looks better overall.

I saw a post on Facebook by Dino stating that he and his team are waiting on MS/Asabo to get their $hit together before trying to update to 2024.

It's in the FAQ

Hadn't noticed, knew where to make the edits myself though so already sorted.
The last release had issues with the nosewheel being completely locked so just assumed it was something along those lines.

Thanks John. And right they are ! ( possibly turns out waiting til the cows come home....)

Really ??.... Well, might be because i'm a fan of Dino's but i really love the T-45. Must say the screenshots of the JF Hawk do look wonderful. Also like the video by Jon Beckett very much. So when the Tobii dust has settled down i might go ahead and buy the Hawk as well. Will be interesting to see how it compares with the T-45.

Thanks, Dave ! :encouragement:

I do find Dino's T-45 to be a really nice model overall. However, the default eyepoint is way too close in - as if you're leaning way forward to look through the HUD. When I adjust the eyepoint back, the outer edges of the HUD display fall outside of the HUD frame. As such, I typically just turn it off when I fly it. Also, while it may be accurate to the real aircraft, the cockpit interior is too dark overall. So, I typically don't fly it very often, and when I do, I don't enjoy it that much. That's what I mean when I say that I haven't connected with it. I did contact IFE about the eyepoint issue, and they said it would require a complete rework of the cockpit eyepoint positioning. My opinion isn't meant as a slam against the T-45 overall, just that I haven't been as happy with the purchase as I have with most other designs.

Ok, all understandable, Dave. Atm i'm still struggling to get comfortable with the tobii but i think i see what you mean about the eyepoint. Not a fan of sitting up close to the instrument panel neither. Can't really test it with the T-45 atm because with every fs2024 session the Tobii seems to react differently. Not sure what's wrong yet. I do very much like the darkish atmosphere in the cockpit. Too often devs seem to use a more or less dark grey for the instrument faces while in the real cockpit they really are black. I did not buy some models just because of those grey instrument faces and bezels and such... ;-)

Like i said earlier i DO very much like the JF Hawk cockpit, very well done. And also that it's quite different to that of the T-45 because of the light blue color. Very nice indeed ! You could easily say you have two quite different aircraft with the Hawk and Goshawk. Will be interesting to have them both together !

I have both, and both are really enjoyable. You also need them to make the freeware Hawk T.Mk.2 to work (sounds and VC)

Cheers,
