HD crash

Had a HD crash earlier in the week and lost all my CFS2 installs. Thankfully I have some backed up on external HD.. The biggest loss was the Aluetians install, hadn't backed it up yet. It had all new Japanese attack missions on Dutch Harbor and US mission/campaign starting in June 1942.

I haven't decided if to rebuild or not yet or just go back to the PNG or continue the " Pearl What If " campaign.

Talon,

You also have my condolences on this, I can only imagine your frustration.

My condolences too.

I'm also having an issue with my current computer. It has files and folders disapearing in a random manner and it really hits the flight sims for some reason. Fortunately I have everything from up to a few weeks ago backed up on an external hard drive. Still, it's no fun.

I'll take it into the computer shop next week and hope they can find whatever it is causing the problem.

I can feel your pain, I had an external HD crash and lost almost all of my flight sim stuff. With the help of the fine folks here at SOH I was able to rebuild my freeware library. I hope things go better and your able to get back up and running again.

I don't post much but would also like to say thanks to you and other folks who's work has made CFS 2 so enjoyable.

Thanks,

T.

I also lost the updated AVG and CATF missions and campaign. That's 73 missions.

Kaybe it's a sign for me to move on to other things.

I feel for you too brother Talon! You all know I have been in the same boat.

I now have both my computers with 2 physical HDs, not just one partitioned into 2.
I have XP X32 on one HD and Win7 X64 on the other.
My 7 CFS2 and FS9 installs are mirror images of each other on both.

It only takes a few seconds to copy and paste changes to the other HD.
I do all my work in XP and then copy and paste it into Win7 so that I have the full use of ALL of my RAM.

So far so good.

DD

So sorry to hear that, you must have lost a lot of work. I was particularly sad to hear you lost the updated AVG campaign. I was looking forward to it.
