seems harder to bring down , ive goit em down but need to figure out target weakness on those birds ....anybody share a thought

Early on in the war, until the machine guns were harmonised at 250 yds or less and our tactics altered there were accounts of pilots emptying all there ammo into the LW bombers and not bringing them down. The .303's at long range weren't effective unless thay hit something vital.

You need to get in close, then closer still.

If you haven't read it get hold of a copy of Paul Richey's 'Fighter Pilot'.
He flew Hurricanes with No.1 Sqdn during the Battle of France, it gives some good insight into the tactics if the day.

that's true of the day Clive, but in CFS3, the trick is to get close but without being cut up by the ai gunner. I've read about a beam attack being effective with the least chance of being hit yourself, but I find it hard to get into that position.
