He162 package

Just uploaded a complete He162 package with 6 textures and new widescreen panel. The most interesting use of it is of course to set it up against the late war allied bomber attacks.

Morton,

These look outstanding! I will approve them forthwith. :ernae:

Thanks Rami!
If someone here at SOH could wrap up a plausible mini campaign, it would be great.

Thanks Morton!

An interesting aircraft, actually partially constructed of wood due to metal shortages toward the end of the war. More were lost operationally than were shot down by Allied fighters, some what similar to the Me163. Wikipedia has an interesting write up about the aircraft.

I haven't had any problems with it, but you may try increasng the empty_weight_roll_MOI by a 1000 if it seems to be a roll issue or/and decrease the nose wheel damping ratio from 2.30 to 0.9. These are found in the aircraft.cfg file.

The FS2002 SDK states that:
A damping ratio of 0.0 is considered undamped, meaning that the oscillations will continue with a constant magnitude. Negative values result in an unstable ground handling situation, and values greater than 1.0 might also cause instabilities by being “over” damped. Typical values range from 0.6 to 0.95.

point.0=1.0, 7.91, 0.0, -4.73, 2252, 0.0, 0.54, 35.7, 0.07, 2.5, 2.30, 7.0, 7.0, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0

Those I stated above sometimes caused problems for me, but I do not have any problem with this particular aircraft, so it might be something else causing it.

Maybe too much wood construction in the plane (lol). That is not why of course, but I couldn't resist a little humor, getting a bit sim crazed I think.

Oglivie,

Thanks for the suggestion. It wasn't that. After trying that with no success I reinstalled the origional Alpha CFS2 version. No dancing. Then tried individual installs of each of Morton's repaints. No dancing. Originally I had put all the textures in one install to try and save some space and for whatever reason my rig didn't like that.

I'm glad you got it remedied, Voyager. I never would probably thought that it would be the fltsim sections/textures.

This plane is really neat, I've been enjoying flying it. Thanks again, Morton!

Cheers,
