Several months ago Robin Corn quit selling FS9 sceneries, right after I bought them, and is concentrating on FSX. Sign of the times. But I never heard he's not commercial anymore. I recall he did mention that he would eventually offer them as freeware.

Thanks for the heads up.

For anyone that hasnt flown NZ, its awesome. I prefer the south Island myself, hopping from Nelson to Wellington is brilliant.

Dangit - I thought I'd merged the two into the stickied version yesterday - it's fixed now...

He is still commercial - in fact the bargain of the month must be ALL his FS9 NZ sceneries on one CD for less than USD20!

Real New Zealand Marlborough is the default scenery for whenever I want to go screenshooting.
Combined with Wellington and the other photoreal west coast up to Paraparaumu (a little-known freeware gem, and better than the FSX version!)
http://nzff.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=6480&hl=nzpp
you can spend days in some of the best FS9 scenery available.

EDIT: Real New Zealand Marlborough has just been uploaded to AVSIM!
Don't miss it...

Yes, and if you don't already have it, here's the NZ kmz file showing most of the scenery that is available.
If you have Google Earth installed, you just double-click this file and it appears in NZ with all sorts of links.

This is excellent work and HU Wing.:applause:

I have just downloaded and have the ideal aircraft for a Seaplane Safari.

If anyone calls, I've gone fishin'...

I find New Zealand's scenery fascinating; it started with the recent pix of Milford Sound. Of the places I have yet to visit, New Zealand and Oz are the two I am most likely to choose.

Until then, can anyone recommend a good mesh that will add realism to FS9's Kiwi Land?

Can't imagine what that might be... perhaps a screen or two? ;)

H52, there is a freeware mesh which was hosted by geographx:
http://geographx.co.nz/downloads/mesh75.zip
but I see they have changed their website.
You must have good mesh to see NZ!
Christian Stock's excellent payware mesh and landclass is here:
http://www.simpilotexperience.com/flight-sim-add-ons/overview/Our-Flight-Simulator-Add-ons.html
and perhaps if you email him he can point you to the freeware one too.

The freeware mesh is 75m which is OK... but most NZ scenery is designed around the payware mesh which of course is a lot better.
For places like Milford Sound as you can imagine, you need the best mesh you can get.

Robin Corn packaged the 75m mesh at one time with some scenery so has a copy.
But he won't distribute it without permission from Christian Stock (whose work it is).

So if you want the freeware 75m mesh, probably best to email Christian through the simpilotexperience website and explain the situation.

Aah Paraparaumu... a favourite haunt.
Nice aeroplane I see there, too.

Now you'd definitely want to take it to the mighty Lake Taupo, amidst a little photoreal Turangi scenery!
And yes, especially in NZ, mesh makes the difference between "Oh Yeah" and "Wow"!

Don't mean to be a pest, but now I'm confused. :icon_lol: Are you saying the Geographix (freeware) mesh is 75m? Or is Geographix's separate and distinct from Robin's?

Ah, yes,
Geographix is 75m , freeware mesh that the developer allowed Robin to distribute with some of his packages.

Although freely available as was from Geographix, it was not allowed to be uploaded to any other download site, it was copyrighted to Geographix.
