Helo blade slap sounds

For years I have used the old 'BladeslapSND' gauge on my FSX helicopters for a more realistic sound when the rotor is under stress (tight turns, slowing down, landing, etc.) I tried putting it into P3d but it doesn't appear to work as it interfaces with the DSD FSX sound gauge. I have been playing around with the various gauge config files and settings (sound and panel) trying to get it to work with the DSD P3D 64 bit sound gauge but not had any luck! :mad:

Does anyone know either how to get it to work or if there is an equivalent available for 64-bit P3D?

I used bladeslap in P3D on my S-64 mod I did for the Milviz bird a ways back. I used the DSD 64-bit xml sound gauge (dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64) I believe it is. I have this code along with the bladeslap sound in my panel folder of the S-64. This is what the two entries looked like. Plus the sound you wanted to use I think I dropped it into the helo's sound file too. I kept the bladeslapsnd folder with all the sounds in it in the panel folder too. not sure if that makes a difference or not, but that's how it's setup on mine.

gaugexx=dsd_p3d_xml_sound_x64!Sound, 2,2,2,2, .\sound\BladeSlapSND\Sound-Config.ini
gaugexx=BladeSlapSND!UH60x-SLAP, 3,3,3,3

Thanks for that info I will give it a try. I did ask for help over at the FSDeveloper forum but didn't get much help and I tried something like you suggested but got nowhere so maybe I missed a step somewhere. I know I just had the sounds and gauges in their respective folders in the P3D root folder but not in the individual helo folder(s).

When you say "Plus the sound you wanted to use I think I dropped it into the helo's sound file too" did you have the sounds in the 'bladeslapsnd folder' in the panel folder AND the sounds in the helo sound folder too?

Yes. I put the entire bladslapsnd folder in my panel folder, but took the individual sound for that helicopter, copied it, and pasted it into the helo's main sound folder too.

I also went in to see what, if anything I might have changed. But I did what I listed above, plus the blandslapsnd gauges folder is in the main gauges directory too. So there's bladeslapsnd sounds and a gauges file. Those gauges are obviously all xml too. I tried looking into them or in any notes I had about changing anything and didn't seem to find any thing else.
