• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Help for a friend

I have a friend that is trying to get further in to uour wonderful hobby. He wants to have a dedicated FS Desktop built but has no idea where to start looking for a tech/builder. He lives in Eugene, OR. Is there anybody out there that might be able to make a recommendation for someone in the Eugene area that does this kind of work. He doesn't want a "super" computer. Just one that wil adequately handle FSX and some add-on sceneries and/or aircraft. Any information/advice will be greatly appreciated..

Have them watch some youtube videos and put one together themselves (and save a bunch of money). It is NOT difficult at all. I am not great with hand tools and stuff like that and I've built several now without any help.

I usually tell people it is easier than building a lego set, as things go together only one way. It is hard to mess it up, especially if you've done your homework.
