The hang on exit bug is partially back..When I click "end mission" or when the OFF manager decides to end the mission automatically (this happens if I crash/die or sometimes when I land on the base. This is normal to happen I think), the game freezes and I have to go Ctrl+Alt+Del and end the non responding Offmanager or reboot. This happens about once every 5-6 missions and it has happened 4 times so far :(. Its pretty frustrating to know that any mission could be lost once it ends... Is anyone else experiencing this? :help:

Hi Gousgounis
Ive been fighting this problem myself since P2. The easiest fix i found is rebooting your system, then running QC CFS3 for a minute or so, then setting back sliders a little ( clouds, terrain and scenery, clouds 1 at all times for me) What happens is our systems can't process all the graphics we throw at them... I did some upgrading just to run OFF and I noticed the better my
system was getting - the less of that problem I was having...sigh...gonna upgrade again soon

No troubles here, and I had it back in Phase 2 (before the fix).

I recall from that time it was not a random thing but happened every time. Seems like your issue is different. (But then my memory isn't too reliable sometimes).

A cure in the olden times was to run CSF3 briefly before OFF. You might try that as an experiment??

Sounds like too much work being done by your system.. Try lowering the terrain slider or scenery a notch if you can.
Bit dramatic..;) the bug is not back it's long dead (more you have a glitch in your system). We stamped on the bug so hard once we found it, our boots needed new soles.

Hi Gousgounis
What OS are you using? I'm on vista business (32 bit) and on my rig when a mission ends the screen seems to freeze and at the top of the screen a message reads OFF Manager not responding. After about 10 secs it all whirrs back into action again and I continue with no prob.
Just wondered if you had a more extreme version of this/

Cheers

Im using XP SP2. Well I'll try everything you said. I forgot to say that this happens only in a second or third consecutive campaign mission. So maybe I'll just reboot after each mission and cross fingers that it wont come back :faint:.
Yes I am being a little dramatic :costumes:. But I am because the last time that happened, it was when I collided mid-air with my wingman, losing my best pilot. Now I am facing a moral issue..shall I retire him, or just go on like nothing happened? (yeah thats cheating bwahahhaha! *ahem*)

All I can add to this is one thing... on my new PC, XP SP2, I approached it as is I have never used OFF before. I had it installed and running (including CFS3) in about 10 min. Up and flying, several mission, no hangs or anything.

If it's possible, which I like to do about once a year (as crazy as it sounds) is wipe out my PC and reload the OS. There is so much crap running behind the scenes on a PC that your bound to be weighing it down even though you don't think you are.

The fun part is that the PC was formatted 15 days ago. Norton didnt find a virus that had went into my registry messing it up. When I switched to NOD32, it found the virus and wiped it out. But it was too late and the damage was dealt. So I reinstalled XP..
