Got CFS3 installed. Installed the Ph 2 files in order... when the OFF shortcut is clicked, I get a pop up window that tells me I need the following dll file:

MSSTDFMT.DLL

What say OFF vets?

I found this too

Read through this it might help.

I think you can download some codecs for the video problem (unless it is part of an install problem) and the MSSTDFMT.DLL. file fix is in the FAQ also.

Also some said that on YouTube there is a vid on MSSTDFMT.dll

I hope you only forgot to include it in your post, and not in reality

After you install CFS3, you must Fly the aircraft of your choice once.

It creates folders used by OFF :kilroy:

Thanks for the link. I will download/install pronto.

Yes, I opened/ran CFS3 (have been flying some of the training missions.) However, the CFS3 I ordered/received has zero printed documentation, I'm slowly working my way through of the in-game manuals. Thus far, I'm stuck with the P-47... have yet to find a way to select the aircraft of one's choice.

Off to install and try again!

Eureka! Up and going!

Superb "atmosphere" throughout! Love the terrain texture colors, the music score is excellent... etc!

So far, I've only flown the SE5a, but had to go to "Auto Rudder" or some such selection on account of my joystick twist-rudder being WAAAAY too sensitive. Perhaps I can detune it with some null zone? In time. Oh... and I'm TERRIBILE at landing. (Bounce... bounce... bounce... :jump: )

Got to head off to bed for now... tomorrow evening I plan to immerse myself into some WW1 flying! Also plan to read the "Tips & Tactics" threads.

Thanks to all that have helped make this a reality.

Andre

Basically, the SE5 is the worst bouncer in the joint. Many do a frightfully long final, sidesliping as much as possible. Or do a 3 point landing.

I should think that in R/L the engines of the day, lacked the instant power to properly flare at the end of the 3 pointer
