Hi Guys
I keep reading about deleting Page file, where and how do you do this? semi computer illiterate, and Roger said some thing about disabling UAC. I'm getting alot of jerkies in spot view. flips are not to bad but fluctuate alot. I'm new to FSX and trying to get up to speed, Help please!!!
Thanks
Marvin Carter

You do not need to delete your page file, it may cause issues if you do.Some programmes require it and will not work without it. Could give " out of memory errors". Post your sytem specs. That pausing is usually due to textures not loading fast enough, your settings may be to high for your system.

Marvin in Vista 32 home premium you get to it thus...

Control Panel\System...advanced...performance...advanced...virtual memory...change...check no paging file

In Vista it works well with FsX. You lose error logging but I'll manage without that for a smoother FsX.

You know Roger,

I've done this on a 32 Bit dual core system and I really don't note any difference in performance.

On the other hand I'm running this with 2 Gigs RAM, which is probably pushing it with Vista.

With page file (4.7 gig) My FsX would freeze whilst it loaded terrain textures for sometimes as long as 20 seconds...doesn't do that now:engel016:

That's interesting....

I think what all this is leading up to for me is a trip to the store to pick up another couple Gigs of RAM....:jump:
