Hi Folks,

For sometime now, I've wanted to do something with Photo Recce aircraft, particularily the PR Hurricanes (suprise,suprise). I have been musing on the possibilities of cameras as weapons and using the weapon view to take screenshots. I need to find a friendly weapons meister who thinks that they might be able to assist. I also need the camera gondola as fitted to PR hurricanes (See piccie below). Can anyone help?

Aeroplane Heaven did something like this with their F9F Panther recon variant for CFS 2 and FS.

I bet you could use the instruction for the Austin bomb sight to configure your panel.cfg file to give you a camera view instead of a bomb sight view and then use a screen shot capture program to take the photo. I think that is similar to what AH did with the Panther.

I'll bet someone could even modify the Austin sight .bmp to resemble a camera view instead of the bomb sight view.
 
Thanks, Jagd. I'll look into that. The Hurricane gondola requires a bit of extra effort though. Perhaps I should find a tutorial for weapons making?

Take a look at either the RF-8A or RA-5C panels that I uploaded for the old Alpha Sim jets. They are both equipped with a camera view, have a camera view bmp and are pretty easy to set up. When you hit the down top hot in 2D view, the camera view is activated.

Can't help you with the camera condola.

I'll see what I can find. I think that Hewman100 is my best bet as he is the oracle when it comes to things Hurricane.
