Help With Scenery Blurries...

I'm relatively new to FSX and have read most of the set up tutorials I could find. I'm running an i7 CPU with a GTX285 and 9 gigs of ram and Win7. I'm not having any frame rate problems, but I've noticed that while looking outside the aircraft from the cockpit view the land textures are drawn with very good detail all the way to the horizon. However in spot view it's not drawing the scenery with nearly the same detail at distance. I have the 'level of detail' set to 'large' and it still seems to be drawing lower resolution mips at distance. Is there something I can do to sharpen the textures in spot view?
