This is a semi-annual event for my brother and myself. Drove to Pioneer Airport (Behind the EAA museum in Oshkosh) for a little open cockpit flying fun and a quick walk through of the museum.
Man, I gotta get me one of these some day!
This last batch is of an 11 1/2ft model of an aircraft carrier. Unbelievable!
It was made by a group of modelers several years ago right at the museum.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...WAAAAAAAAAAA....some guys have all the fun while us piss ants just sit and cry....dem shots look might-tee sweet.
Thanks for the pics, Tom. It was a beautiful day in Oshkosh.
Awesome model of the Enterprise.
I noticed that of all the folks up on "Vultures' Row" (the long catwalk halfway up the island) there's not one guy in messcook whites. I can't remember a time I ever watched flight ops and there weren't at least a couple guys up from the mess decks getting some fresh air. Betcha that's one detail Helldiver would agree with me on.
