i have the mike stone one in fs9, it's ok for free.

i got a letter from fsd just yesterday regarding my inquiry about their model. their 337 is a port over. as much as i love that plane, there's no way i'm gonna pay that kinda money for a port. afaik, no one has any plans for an fsx version. i have emailed carenado a few times about doing one, and they are not interested. maybe if enough of us petitioned them they might change their minds? if no one wants to make one for fsx then i'll have to do without.

Well the 1965 model carries this disclaimer;

Please note mileage may vary from listing a couple of hundred miles due to road tests.

Yucca Valley isn't that far away, maybe I'll go see if they will let me do a test drive??? :icon34:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Heres a cool view of one from behind in flight. Airliners.net photo.

I wonder what one would look like with the front engine removed, and a Cessna 310 nose cone mounted at the front... (or Golden Eagle nose cone perhaps).

Bill

Willy doesn't need the real thing, the FSD model will suffice.
Time for a little Real vs Sim, then:

I havent seen that one.

Pretty wild planes.

I wonder if you need an official twin engine rating in a Sky Master if the engines are inline? You should be able to fly normally with one out in either the front or rear. I remember a controversy on this.

Bill

There's a separate centerline thrust rating for the Skymaster.

Keep in mind that one engine takeoffs in a 337 are normally forbidden. Also the rear engine tends to overheat on the ground in hot weather. Some pilots will taxi on the front engine, then start the rear just before entering the runway. Normal one engine operations have severely reduced operating parameters.

And the damn things are a real pain to work on! Just to change the aft engine oil, requires a hose shoved up it's......well you know....:isadizzy:
However, nose gear can be worked on by simply setting the plane back on it's tail bumpers, on most of them.
I always liked how O-2's looked, in thier mil paints.
. . . Or F-18 nosecone (complete with 20mm). . .
The recoil would stall the thing right out of the sky!
