I decided to do a 2nd FS2004 install. I must have done this many times before, over the years. I'm using Windows 11 24H2.
I've don the usual install on a 2nd drive, did the update & patch, & obviously renamed the exe (to FS9D.exe) to build a fs9.cfg that will not affect my original install.
The first time I ran it, all worked. I loaded a bunch of sceneries & aircraft, & ran it.
It started with the usual update of the library, then a black screen for a few seconds, then it 'vanished'. (crashed).
I look at Window's Event Viewer & I get this..

Faulting package-relative application ID:
After all that, I did a 3rd clean install with no addons at all & get the same crash.
The faulting module is mshtml.dll
Mshtml.dll is a dynamic link library (DLL) file that contains instructions for the Microsoft Windows browser engine, Trident.
My original install still works perfectly.
I even tried to copy the first install's fs9.exe as well as the working fs9.cfg into the 2nd sim. still nothing.
Any ideas as to what my next step should be?
