Hi bearcat, I have recently read some of your posts regarding a possible hardware upgrdes, me thinks. :ques:
I'm really curious if you were able to load a Pci E ver.2.0 motherboard into your rig.
This is in regards to the postings you and igacci had concerning stability of the newer graphics cards in direct draw/2d.
On my end, there are some available funds for upgrading my board from Pci E to one that has Pci E ver 2.0 capable slots. Kinda wanting to get some input before I waste it on something that will not improve my situation with my GTS-250 1 mb.
If you recall, my issue was in the area of my monitor going blank for about 1.5 seconds while running any MS flight simulator.
Having a 2.0 specked video card in the older Pci Express motherboard could be the culprit?
My box has a 650 watt psu with 26 amps at the +12 volt rail, and am also using the 6 pin power connector to the graphics board.
If you have any news or suggestions, could you please post it? :ernae:
Thanks, Dave
PS: I also have read some posts from Cazzie, a SOH member here, who also had some probs with a GTX 4 or 275, don't remember exactly which one, that seem to have been power related.
