Hispano HA-200/220 at SimMarket

SOH-CM-2023
A relatively little-known Spanish trainer/ground attack plane designed in 1955 by a trio that included Willy Messerschmitt. Super-niche and my favorite era of aviation.

The videos on the SimMarket page look pretty good, and the price is a mere $16.31. Won't have a chance to fly for the next few days, but anxious to hear impressions if anyone picks it up.

This is an aircraft I've always had a soft spot for so really happy to see it in the sim.
First impressions:
You get to models, one for the unarmed SA-200 and one for the armed SA-220. Haven't flown the -220 yet so can't say if it's got a loadout manager or anything. You get 4 colour schemes in each.

Modelling looks lovely, clearly a lot of work and love has gone into creating these. The only thing that's a bit weird is you get this odd twinkling effect on bits of the external model, I think it's reflection. I've never noticed it before but it's happening in a few places on the ground too so maybe it's the sim rather than the aircraft.

I haven't had much of a play with systems modelling yet but pretty much everything I tried in the cockpit is clickable.

Flight model seems to be convincing. It doesn't have the rocket-like acceleration of the AzurPoly Magister and the performance seems very much what I'd expect for a low-powered jet. I really like the way it flies! Only slight oddball is the engines behave oddly when changing power settings, the response seems uneven and the revs hunt around all over the place.

Only real criticism are the sounds. I think he ones on the AzurPoly Magister or even the freeware Magister or Paris from Restauravia are better.

Very happy with the purchase though for the money and I'm sure it'll be one of the more flown aircraft in my hangar.

Had to try this, simply beacause I never heard of it before and lateley I get more and more into those early jets.

Great modelling and this vintage jet cockpit layout looks just fine. The flight model seems convincing and it´s hard work to keep a steady thrustlevel on approaches with those engines. Also great to have some period pilot avatars coming with it.

Moreover I like this 50s "kitchen-aid-design":D

Finally got home and picked this up tonight. A real bargain at the price! Flies convincingly, good sounds, and the visuals are fantastic.

Hope to see more cool obscure Spanish planes from this dev!

I wrote the author (Raúl Muñoz) to see if there's a manual available. There's not, but he sent some handy tips on power settings:

Some tips in general: Ground RPM engines 6000/ 11000

Never exceed RPM except takeoff on short runways 21750

maximum 15 minutes Engines RPM 21500

cruise 20000 RPM to optimize fuel consumption

descent and approach above 11500 rpm

Also, if anyone gets the repaint bug on this, here's a darn pretty American civilian scheme:
