Historic Battle of Britain Day Flypast Sept. 15

On September 15th, marking the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, more than 40 Spitfires and Hurricanes will be gathering at Goodwood Aerodrome, from across the UK, Europe, and the US, to take part in a historic flypast over the South of England (which will also include the world's only flying Bristol Blenheim). This event will bring together more Spitfires and Hurricanes than have gathered in one place since original military operation.

According to the Battle of Britain Day Flypast event website, "Aircraft will take off as wings in groups of roughly four. They will circle through the overhead of Goodwood Aerodrome before setting course to Selsey Bill. From Selsey Bill the different wings will set course on predetermined routes (http://www.battleofbritainday.co.uk/#!routes/c1px) spreading out to cover the South of England and ending up at Battle of Britain airfields such as Biggin Hill, Duxford, Northweald, and Northolt, with some returning to Goodwood."

BTW, for those not aware, there was also a Spitfire/Hurricane gathering held just yesterday, at Biggin Hill, as another Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary event, which featured 17 Spitfires and 5 Hurricanes (more were scheduled, but bad weather prevented a few of them from making it), which then flew together in a number of four-ship formations. You can of course find numerous videos and photos of yesterday's event now through a search of sites like Youtube and Flickr. Sure wish i was able to see it. Will have to do with CFS3-BoB. The sounds from all those Spit's and Hurri's must sound like heaven !
