• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

'Hmmm...'

Oh yea...i don't read the manual anyways.....LOL

Hmmmm is right...

I've lately been wondering what FSX SDK planes are on the drawing board?

..which planes are still in parts on the hangar floor?

..which planes are being painted and polished and prepped for their initial rollout?

I remember talk about a Ryan STA among others...

I know Icarus has most of a Boeing Peashooter done..

Maybe there could be a stickie thread where developers both free and fareware could both list and track their projects - and maybe that way we would have some idea of what was being considered or built and they, the developers, could see if something they were considering was already somewhere along in the process already...

just a notion - might make everyone's time a little more productive no?

I hate to say it, but they look like the sort of games you played on windows 95...although they don't look as good.

I can see how those might appeal to some people...

I was offered a copy of Farmer Simulator to review a while back, after having a conversation about the fact that it seemed to have set up camp near the top of the simMarket recent best seller lists and no-one could figure out why. I didn't take up the offer, but to be honest, sometimes people just want a break and being able to play with some silly little games that are just totally different can be fun.

Must ask Mrs. P for the URL for the particularly daft airport and town buildings games she's been playing. They're very simple, very much aimed at children, but irritatingly addictive as well. And they have time-limited demos.

Here it is: http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/3355/airport-mania-first-flight/index.html - you can get it from other places as well, possibly cheaper.

The reason why some developers don't reveal what they're working on is the same reason why poker players don't show their cards to one another in a poker game. The higher the stakes, the closer they hold the cards to their vest, so to speak.

Another reason one doesn't say much before a release is that it limits the ability to make changes. If you announce that your plane is going to feature X,Y, and Z and during the process of building the plane you discover that you can't get Z to work, it's much harder to change plans and drop Z and still "save face." A developer's reputation is one of his most valued assets and it doesn't do it any good to keep changing your mind in a public forum.
