Hey all, i do apologize, cause i know the answer has been posted for a while now but.... i tried to host a game for a friend new to the game, and gave him my IP address, but he couldn't connect. Do i need to open some ports? i never thought i had to. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yes, You have to open ports on your router. I had this problem awhile back and a SOH member by the name of Rustyoke talked me through it.

My setup is as follows:

Port Range

Application / Start / End / Protocol / IP Address / Enable

CFS3 / 2300 / 2300 / TCP / 192.168.15.xxx / Yes
CFS3/ 28883 / 28886 / TCP / 192.168.15.xxx / Yes

Hopefully this helps out a little.

:isadizzy: I had problems the other night too trying to host, I'd forgotten about all this stuff. Way beyond me I think but will give it a go, thanks MTG

PORT NUMBERS THAT I USE TO HOST :ernae:

UDP 2300-2400
UDP 28880-29000

TCP 2300-2400
TCP 28800-29000

AND WHILE WERE AT IT TEAM SPEAK HOSTING PORT # UDP 8767

ANYONE HEARD FROM RUSTY???????

SOME HAVE HAD LUCK WITH JUST THE UDP # SOME THE TCP# ME HADE TO ALLOW BOTH AND WORKS GREAT
