How Can I Fix The Non-Closing Cargo Door On Mr Guzman, Mr Gibsons GA C-46A?

I cannot close the large cargo door for Mr Guzman and Mr Gibson's C-46A Of CalClassics. It just flaps open when I takeoff, I have tried useing the Shift + E key..that just opens a small door. Then I tried useing the / Key that will open it up (the big cargo door) but it will not close it all the way. Is there a fix for this? Or am I the only one having this minor problem?

Cheers

Funny, just a few minutes ago I finished a flight in the 46 and saw the same thing.I noticed that the large cargo doors moved with the cowl flaps. It looked a bit strange in flight:icon_lol:,but I still enjoy the hell out of the 46 anyways.

The 'spoiler' key (/) works for me -open & close.

If it's opening on t/o from fully closed then it looks like an inadvertent key press is sneaking in (got a joystick button mapped to "/" ?) .

If it won't close in any situation then I'd wonder if it might be getting a double-click of the / key when you try to close it and gets the idea you 'changed your mind' about closing.

"but it will not close it all the way"
seems odd as normally animations won't stop part way. Have you modified the a/c in any way, including new panels?

Funny t'ing you should mention, Casey! I noticed the same thing when I last flew the mighty beast. And I tried like ten buggers to fix the problem, with zero luck at all ! So it's very gratifying to know that it's not just MY setup that's showing this fault.

It seems to me that if I start-out with an outside view, and close the door, all's well. But if I shift views to inside, and then back outside again, "Pop goes the weasel", and the doggone thing cracks partially open.

If one doesn't care about such things, it's no biggie -- there's no concomitant drag or yaw. But most of us here are purists, to at least some degree, and such inconsistencies grate like finger nails on a chalk board. It's like ailerons working backwards, or sump'm.

So while I'd dearly love to offer some quick fix, I cannot. But I'll be hanging on this thread in hopes of eventually seeing a solution to this vexing problem with an otherwise fine aircraft.

Thank You All

Thank you all for your replies, I will try all of the above suggestions, but I think there could be a fix in the future I hope.

Salute To All

Casey

Gentlemen,

The aircraft works fine for me. The slash key (/). opens and closes the cargo door.

Make sure that your cowl flaps are at 0% before take-off. That what works for me! LA

Another factor, and I *d0* hope this isn't a red herring: Seems that this is only a fairly recent regression in performance, so I wonder whether it's possibly an Acceleration generated phenomenon.

Is anyone having this snag who's SP1?

That might be the problem right there.... The plane is a port over in FSX and some animation tags may not be the same. I've never seen the doors do that on mine (in FS9) and I had the beta to play with since one of the paint jobs in the package is mine (Salmon Ella/ Everts Air fuel)

Here's how my doors work ..........

Shift E = small Pax door left rear

Shift E2 = small crew door left front ; small Pax door right rear ; small cargo door right rear

Spoiler key ( / ) = both large cargo doors left rear

I have the cowl flaps assigned to 2 buttons on the joystick.

You are correct sir.I checked the panel I installed (by Markus Hellwig "Wild Bill Kelso",a GREAT panel by the way) and the cowl flaps command was opening the larger cargo doors but only part way.The original "default" panel and animations work as others have said, spoilers, shift E,ect.
Thanks for the heads up.:salute:
