How can I speed up CFS2?

I have a question?

How can I speed up CFS2 with out having to go twice its normal speed as its basic minimal speed enhancer. In other words if I would like to speed up the Sim to lets say 50% faster from its normal speed. What do have to do?

What file do I have to manipulate to get this effect. I believe that CFS2 is bit to slow on normal speed.But I do not want to speed it up to twice from its flight normal speed. Thats a bit to fast for my taste. I just want to speed it up a little more from its normal speed setting!

Thank you ahead of time!:wave::help:

Those clock gauges are just wired back to the sim speed rate function he wants to avoid...like a desktop shortcut to a proggy.

Sorry Miami....can't resist this one.....

Fire up CFS2, let it run for about 3 minutes......

Then chuck the machine outta the window...it should gain considerable speed on its way down.:costumes::costumes:

Thank you any way Guys.

There was a member who knew how to do this but I never memorize it in time before that post was lost for ever.

I think you're referring to that old trick of increasing the exe's system priority for more performance. IIRC it was SDC who first shared this. You have to create a new shortcut for the cfs2.exe, right-click it and open Properties. It has a shortcut tab where you'll find a target box. Copy and paste this in the box: %comspec% /C "start /HIGH cfs2.exe"

Keep your old shorty in case you decide not to use this one. Personally, i've never gained much from using it. And it has the added effect of fracking with any other third-party CFS2-related software running in the background, like Active Sky or FSMetar for weather, or screenshot (Mgrab, Hypersnap, IrfanView) or movie-making programs ala Fraps. It cuts them out of the CPU processing loop for your CFS2 session. You'll have to also raise their system priorities before you load the sim to get them to work effortlessly with the high-priority sim engine.

They say you lose your sense of time when you smoke wacky tobacky, but I don't know if it seems faster or slower. Collin can probably tell you. :kiss:

It actually goes faster when you take bigger drags, but, it seems to go slower when you do.:isadizzy::Banane40:

Or so I'm told:amen:

Don't ask, don't tell . . . Actually, it grows wild in this part of Kansas, but the kids say it only gives you a headache. There is a National Wildlife Refuge here called Quivera. They have a nature trail near a salt marsh where you can walk through a forest of the stuff in late July and August. When it flowers it fills the air with an unmistakable odor. But like I said, it is not commercial quality so nobody messes with it.

Hey miami, if you just want to speed up the planes, you can make the following changes in your "aircraft" configuration files:

[piston_engine]
power_scalar = 1.2

[propeller]
thrust_scalar = 1.2

That should speed em up. If that's still not fast enough for you, crank em up to 1.3 or higher. However, I do not recommend breaking the sound barrier. I hear prop planes do not respond well to that.:rapture:

I've seen that stuff. I thought I'd struck the Mother Lode, but then I was told it was only hemp. I hear the fibers make good rope. I think they planted a lot of it during WWII. If I remember correctly, the oil extract makes a good lubricant for aircraft engines.
