Jagdflieger helped me put in the new American Carrier and made it easy, but now I have the JIN Carrier JMK_Sinano_g a very moderan IJN A/C launched 1944. As Jagdflieger lillustrated for me go into mission folder find the default A/C with was the SHA_Essex but for the Japanese A/C default A/C it should be the Agaki...but I cannot find the Agaki in the mission folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Banzi!

Casey,

It might be easier if I make you a mission with the Sinano accompanied by its escorts. Do you want them in the sea of Japan and which IJN destroyers do you want or have in your ships folder?

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to do. If you want to replace the stock carrier in the training mission "Carrier Approach and Landing" then follow these steps.
  • Start Mission Builder and open the American mission "Carrier Approach and Landing".
  • Replace the stock carrier in that mission (sha_essex_cv9) with the Japanese carrier you wish to use.
  • Make sure the nationality remains USA or else the new carrier will shoot at you.
  • Save your mission and go practice flying on your new Japanese carrier.
If you are trying to do something else, please be more specific.

Cody,

I too went through a lengthy explanation and then I remembered that the mission was US and not Japanese. Makes for more editing than one may want to do especially if you want to fly a Japanese plane from the ship. It'll just take a few minutes to make the mission. Not much longer than editing the old one.

When I get to my home computer, I'll make a mission up that will use the Sinano. I may already have a few of those in the Missions folder as I normally test out new carriers by flying some touch and gos on them.

Sinano Mission

OK Casey,

Here you go.

Just get rid of the .txt at the back of the "IJN Sinano Landing.msn" file after you download it and then place it in your Missions folder.

You'll also need the JMK_Fubuki in the Ships folder as well as the stock A6M5_Zero, B5N2_Kate and the G4M2_Betty in your Airplane folder.

Your carrier will be steaming north along the east shore of Okinawa towards the Home Islands. Watchout for air patrols out of Kadena airbase and for anti-sub patrols. You'll have two Fubuki class DDs as an escort.

Jagdflieger!!

Thank you!! You make life easier here at CFS2 I am reading Mr Cody's Book on missions...so hopefuly I can contribute as you have.

Salute
