How do u make add-ons?

How do you make CFS3 add-ons? Sure, no problem. It's just like IL2. You just ask rude questions, troll around grabbing things that other people have already done, and then you bundle them together with your name on them.

Oh, wait, that was Owl. Sorry.

Its kinda like restoring a classic car. 1st you have to read all the literature you can to learn the basic skills. Start with the CFS3 SDKs that can be found at the CFS3 microsoft website. Read the archives of the SOH forum. Download the tuts that are in the SOH download section.

After that concentrate on a particular type of item that you want to master. Do the historical research on the subject or item and then give it a go.

Its a long process and road and requires alot of dedication and mastering of different program skills.

How do u make add ons? I don't know how to make add ons. Tell me how to make add ons.:gameon:

Hi Dementor338,

I'am not a specialist but for what I know:
1. Planes: you have to use GMAX. It takes some guys 5 minutes to learn this and others 5 years. There are some tutorials at the downloadsection. Do a search here on the threads and look for "gmax tutorials". Viso's tutorial gave me a good first impression: http://www3.telus.net/murrdaka/

You can look futher from there on. Also download the SDK-files from the official Microsoft SCF3 website.

2. Skins: this is absolutely not my territory. I think you best do a search in the threads for: "making skins" or "skin tutotials". Some of the tutorials about making aircraft for CFS3 will talk something about this topic too.

3. Vehicles: look under 1.

4. Missions: here you have to use the Microsoft Missionbuilder. It's on your harddisk when you have installed CFS3. If I'am not mistaken, the tutorial is there too. If I'am wrong: look at the official MS CFS3 website

5. Other add-ons (like facilities etc.): I don't have a clue: perhaps Pat Pattle, Jaycee or Nachtpiloten could give you some first directions.

Personally. I would start with building a few missions. But if you are more technical then me, you could also try building planes and or vehicles.

Good luck!

Building airfields is a lot of fun! I have recently had ago myself with help from Pat Pattle. It does require a basic knowledge of Gmax but nothing as complex as building aircraft.

GMax

what is gmax?

Hi Dementor338

GMax is a 3D modelling program dedicated to creation of games/simulators items (from static to dynamic objects), it can be considered as a (much) scaled down version of Discreet 3D Studio Max but its great advantage is that it is downloadable for free.
I don't have at hand the link for the downloading site but it is easy to find looking for Gmax in Google.

Good luck
Cristiano

what is gmax?
Seriously, dude...

You could find TONS of info on your first question if you just took some time to browse the forum here.

As for the most recent question, perhaps the better question to answer for you is "What is Google?"
