How far into my "blue" zone must I be to not become a POW??

I Landed well inside My "BLUE" zone near one of my own airfields and to my surprise became a POW. BUMMER!!!!
So, just HOW FAR should I try to get into the friendly zone ? Some parameter must exist.

In Campaign?
I thought we had this discussion already? It is not an exact science deliberately as per that thread.

Normally I land and am fine sometimes not. If you fly in CS3 QC from workshops you cannot land anywhere and be safe.

Where are you landing exactly? location/airfield nearby etc? Which squadron what date?
If you make it to a friendly airfield you will be safe usually, near the lines then not so safe there's a war on..it's fluid.

37.6 miles or was it .7 ?

An enemy patrol with orders to return with prisoners, can't be predicted

I was forced down behind enemy lines, was captured, and escaped two days later . . . . I was amuzed that such a feature would be enlisted
( new for Phase 3) .. Never happened before

SOP was to retire that pilot, perhaps starting a new campaign, in a new aircraft, a new time period. The choice was yours

Because afterall, the game is about murder in the air, not the life of a Bengal Lancer :ernae:

I think it has to do a bit with how many enemy are near you, (at least it seems that way). I went down well behind my own lines, right next to a friendly captive balloon post, so I'm thinking, good and safe! Problem was there were no other friendly aircraft in the sky, and 3 enemy N-17's circling overhead. I'm safe, I think, cause I'm near an installation thats machine gunning and AA'ing the craft above. NOPE!! Captured. I guess the three N-17's landed and took us all at pistol point! This may need a small tweak in the future that relates the outcome more to proximity from the front, as opposed to enemy in the area. Still awesome though. I just dont want to lose any more of my good pilots in such a silly way! : )

ZZ.

Nobody's taking me alive.

It's rather easy to say that in your drawing room, with a brandy snifter in one hand, and a Cuban cigar in the other

But it's a different story when you're surrounded by 32 Huns, all pointing their Mausers at you. And you're armed with only your service revolver, and your wits. :ernae:

I'm not trying to be argumentative here, or even a little bit cantankerous, but if someone has a question about BHaH (which being a prisoner is a Phase 3 issue), please refer them to the appropriate forum. Answering their question is just adding confusion to an already confusing situation, or we could go back to one forum and tell folks to specify which version they are talking about.:isadizzy:

Thanx,
CJ
