How I wish the sim depicted jet wash/thust

I was taxiing along in the Alpha C141 and a tailgater in a C172 kept crowding me....instinctively I hit the brakes and went to full power...wishing I could blow that jerk away. Oh, how much fun it would be if the sim modeled the thrust/wash from props and jet engines. It would have been so cool to watch that Cessna go flipping and sliding along the taxiway.

But you can get at least the look of it.
Have you tried Nick Needham's various effects?
Smoke, lights, dust you name it.
Available at the usual places, search his name...

I have that package and will incorporate it into the C141...but I still want to be able to blow little planes off the taxiway!

but sometimes they are in front...

Hi,

All Active Sky weather programs from ASv6.5 forward, model wake turbulence.

The old flight Unlimited III modeled wake etc, I remember going behing a 777 across a runway and being literally blown away.

I have these and yes I have noted the inclusion but I have never ever experienced it and I have tried. So I must be doing something wrong.

Hi,

Do you have the option turned On? Also, we re talking about wake turbulence here, not taxiing too close behind another plane and getting blown off the runway.

Of course, I have the opposite problem OBIO has... I just can't help messing with those big guys! Think they own the whole airport! :icon_lol:

I can't remember the name of the second plane in PRB's pic...but everytime I see it I think that the engines look like they have seen at least one belly landing in their time.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! I get the same attitude at times when I'm driving. Lots of those 18 wheelers think they can push whenever they want. The ones I usually catch are coming up to a hill (1/2 mile away) and they try to get me to go faster. NOT!! :icon_lol:

That's a later model Boeing 737. When they upgraded to bigger more powerful engines they came across a small problem: with the 737's low wing there wouldn't be enough clearance for the engines, so they pushed the engines ahead of the leading edge and put the engine accesories to the sides and put it all in a nacelle with a flattened bottom end. Helped with the clearance issue but the engines are still very low and they have their fair share of FOD--I'd say about as bad or worse than a Northrop F-89 which was nicknamed 'Hoover' because of it.
I just can't believe how big that tri-7 is compared to the other two planes. Wow. That is one honkin' big bird.
