How to beat tight flying budgets

When we were kids we used to make Zero's , P-51's, etc like that(mostly not as nice!), and rollerskate around the streets, schoolyards, shopping areas, etc.. Funniest part is when my "wingman" sliced open a woman's shopping bag with his wingtip, and spilled all the contents on the sidewalk. No one got hurt, but we got "grounded" literally!

Large cardboard boxes made a lot of neat things! My brothers and cousins use to cut and form cardboard boxes into tanks, and trucks and cannons and use them as props for our invasions!

Or they became covered wagons or what ever was needed at the time ...
