was wondering what file contains the aircrafts name, so i can change it

There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.
If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.
Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Well netjunky... depends what name you want to change.
I will guess it is the name that appears in the drop-down menu when you click on Player Aircraft > Change / Modify.... This one, you will find in the aircraft.cfg file within the "aircraft container" (the aircraft folder). It will say something like that;

sim=Bf109e
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=
checklists=Bf109e_CHECK
The name is in red. This file should open with any TXT prog.

Sorry, I think I caught a virus from P&W.

A lot depends on what name and why you want to change it. I am no expert, but there at least three names for your aircraft. And there are at least that many more locations where the name appears. It would be helpful for us to know what you want to do. I understand a person has a right to do whatever they want in the privacy of their own home... No sorry, that no longer applies to people living in the Unites States.
Well it would help to know which name you want to change.
