how to O.F.F. Multi play

firstly, inside the main off game folder rename the cfs-3 exe for the no cd crack to O.F.F.
if you need the disk to play the game rename the cfs exe to O.F.F.
then send the shortcut to the desktop.
now put the off manager thats on the desktop inside your my documents folder or somwhere you can get at it in case you ever want to make changes to your settings.
From inside your my doc.s folder double click on the O.F.F. manager and bring up the game. select MULTIPLAY/select ok and wait for the game to load. once the game loads and you have the options screen in front of you select control/alt/delete and kill the off manager.then load a multiplay mission and fly. then leave the game and go to desktop.
now double click on the O.F.F. icon on your desktop and the game will load in 15 seconds or less. and run as smooth as a baby's butt lol. you still have the manager to load the game and play the campaign mode or you can change settings in workshop.
just remember that every time you open O.F.F. with the manager you must kill it with control/alt/delete in order for the fast load manager bypass icon to bring up the game. failing to do so will result in a mission failed to load message.

well guys to add to the post here is what i recommend

to ''the boy's''

once your game is up and running make a copy of it, not a reinstall. go inside the microsoft games folder and make a new folder amd call it O.F.F.
Then go inside your main game install,hit edit,select all,copy, and then go inside the new O.F.F. folder and hit paste.rename the cfs-3 exe in there to O.F.F.-2
you then leave your main game install alone and play it in campaign mode only when selecting the manager.
now get the multi install program from martin wright,follow his readme,and fire up the o.f.f.-2 game useing the manager from inside that game folder.
it will start the game,select multi play ect,and then kill the manager once the game is loaded.
fly a mission and exit the game.
then throw the o.f.f.-3 exe to the desktop and use this install only for online play.
there you have the best of both worlds and never have to switch back and forth

this will work well as i will have three installs,one heavily modded.

Can you put this into 'layman' noobie talk. Like a step-by-step. I got as far as copying and renaming the cfs3.exe file to OFF and making a shortcut. When I run it, I get what looks like the Phase 3 QC screen with my Albatros sitting there. The I hit ctrl-alt-del, and the game locks.

So this isn't working for me.

you must start the game with the manager

go to multiplay and select a mission.

once loaded control,alt,delete, and kill the manager.

this may put cfs-3 onto the taskbar.

click on the icon and bring the game back up and fly the mission.

then exit the game

then put the icon to the desktop and all should be well.

if this is still confuseing for you i will have nio do the readme as this among other things is his fortea.
plus he can spell.

it does work if executed properly,

Am not sure if I have this figured out, but will just post my attempts.

Seems like the game needs a cfs3.exe to run, so I think what pd meant was not to rename the cfs3.exe, but just to put a shortcut for it on the desktop. I apologize to him if I am wrong about this.


I think everyone knows by now when you click on the OverFlandersFields shortcut on your desktop, it starts up the "off manager" (which for me when you look at task manager is always not responding), and it also starts up cfs3.exe (which shows up as combat flight simulator 3 in the task manager)

So I made a shortcut to cfs3.exe(from my obd folder, not my cfs3 folder) on my desktop, started OverflandersFields, click on multiplayer, seletcd a mission, and hit accept.

Now not sure what screen pd means when he says "options screen", so when I was at the screen with the 2 medals, i hit alt-ctl-delete, got into task manager, and killed the "off manager". This still left "combat flight simulator 3" running.

From here, i scrolled down to his 2nd set of instuctions, and pretty much did as he said. Started a mp mission, killed it entirely, and then clicked on the cfs3.exe shortcut that i had put on my desktop, and started a mp mission. Now i have cfs3 running with the off manager not running.

Will not be sure this works unless someone attempts to join.

also, am not sure if this if for host only, or if this is required for everyone.

So i will take pictures and number them

then post as i did for hosting
