How to vary the panning rate/speed?

I read about this previously in a thread here but now I can't find it. There was also mention of having to change the values in both OFF and CFS3 as I remember it.

Anyone? (and thank you)

Check the FAQ please .. Misc questions 14.

Thanks again. Another senior moment... :redface:

Since forcing off v-sync my frame rate shot up and as a result the panning rate is waaaaay too fast I've found. I'll try bumping up the default .9 setting to 3 or 4 to see how this looks. Just curious...is there a maximum setting beyond which no further slowing occurs?

no problem, mm no idea on that one but you lower the number to go slower !

Hmmm... just the opposite of what I would have thought.

One other question please. I think I changed a value that I shouldn't have just trying some things on my own (before posting this time). Can you tell me what the default value should be for:

<VirtualCockpitView
FovScale="1.0"
RotationRate=".9"
TranslationRate="0.5"

Thank you

Is there a way to reverse the X axis of the hat in panning? I find pushing forward on the hat to look up and pulling back to look down to be not only counterintuitive, but possitively annoying.

I think that is the 'stock' value. Mine is also 0.5.

Thanks for the verification (.5)

As an aside, I've been experimenting with the pan rate and for my setup .6 rotation really works well - what a difference. I was having a heck of a time with the hat switch views because it was too sensitive.

The more I explore this sim the better it looks and plays. Absolutely beyond my expectations. I pretty much have my CH joystick buttons programmed to the best view combination (for me) and now that I've added my CH Pro pedals to the mix my flight control and target tracking is head and shoulders above what I could manage using the keyboard for rudder control. Guess I'm ready to try the campaign mode and see how long I can survive! :d

Make sure you have the latest drivers from Naturalpoint. They've been updated to support TIR in OFF with Vista.
