Howard 500 Repaints?

So I finally got around to flying the 500 last night, should have done that when it came out but I'm slow in trying out some types of birds. When I went to the usual places I was surprised to find not that many repaints for it in FSX. Are there any repaints out there for FSX or will the FS9 skins work?

Depends on which model you are running.

The original FS9 and FSX portovers have around 40-50 repaints available at various sites like Flightsim, Simviation, and Com-Central (prepackaged).

The original FSX native version done a few years back uses teh same textures.

The most recent model changes done for the TuFun project is a FS9 Portover with model changes just for that project so other repaints will not work. This was a special project and model just for TuFun's work.

So, if you can identify for us what you have, maybe we can be more specific in our help.

Milton, I have this one installed

Howard 500vc4-FsX

Like I said, it's a great bird to fly as are all of your works of art. I was surprised at it's speed once I got airborne. Made flying from Port Moresby to Nazdap in no time.
Thank you so much for this one.

You may want to check out this site... has lots of repaints.

Nothing wrong with becoming a member there. Those folks have been around for a long time, some are here, others to other venues, but all great guys. SOH even links to Com-Central at the bottom of the Home and Forum pages. It is a trusted site.

They have also done a lot of work packaging repaints for several of my aircraft, the Aero Commanders, Beech 18, and Howard 500. Most everything done for you and collections of all known existing repaints at the time of packaging for which they could gain permissions.

It's well worth the membership; I have been there for 7 years or more.

Thanks for the link for the re-paints, as I was informed I went ahead and registered yesterday and I got the approval when I got home from work today. Only thing I see that needs to be worked on is the spinning prop textures but as I got the replacements when I first got the bird it's no big deal. I have a new favorite to fly now.
