Howard's Mix

Has anyone downloaded and installed 'Howard's Mix' for FS9 yet? If so, what's your opinion for this large enhancement package?

I downloaded, then changed my mind and deleted after reading comments. There's now an update and comments are somewhat more favorable, so I downloaded again. The only thing is, I'm afraid to install it.:isadizzy:

It would be quite a radical thing...
I installed it on an old box.
If you had a totally stock FS9, and could not bear the fact that it did not slightly resemble a totally stock FSX, I'd give it a whirl.

As Wing Z said - Stock FS9 with no add ons - it's probably OK, but if you have special weather and textures etc (especially payware stuff) I would leave well alone.
...................... but you won't will you ................... it is the way of things here, we have to tinker even though we know it's bad for us .................. errrrr I wonder if I could only just get slightly better looking fences and grass ................. oK I'll try ......... dumb dumb dumb, Oh dear, I now seem to have green sky and bricks for clouds .......... how on earth did that happen?

I took the HM plunge!

Yes, I installed HM in my FS9. I like it, not because it makes everything look more realistic, I just like the textures better. Also, there are several more weather themes now on my FS9 than the stock themes. I can't guarantee that everyone's going to like it.

Well spoken!
I did the download too but hesitated installing.
I'm happy with Flight Environment and didn't want to screw it up.
If it's not broken - don't fix it!

Cheers,
Markus.

Is this the one that you get a box with options like dark or light water, wet or dry runways? If so my box was all out of whack and I couldn't try out anything. If its not then disregard.

I don't remember if it had that option or not, I do know that it sent my local airfields runways to green (ie grasslike, but not grass) when they are and always have been concrete - and grey into the bargain.
