Wazzaup Guys? :ernae:

I'm new here, but not so much for the CFS 3, I had some experience in dogfights, etc...
Now I'm looking for some online combats and I see that here is the right place!

Also I'll need some help for upgrade correctly my CFS, I have a lot of aircrafts (of Av History, Sim-outhouse, etc), but I want to know more about those expansions like ETO, MAW and others. What exactly they are? And it's difficult to install it?

The community seems quite active and cool!

:kilroy:Soudwave, the best explanations of what ETO and PTO are is right here: http://www.ww2aircombat.com/

There is also an excellent ETO Installation Guide, assembled by Hairyspin, right here at SOH: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=22434. It's in Post #1 o this thread.:d

Welcome ,you may have figured this out by now but here it is anyway- if your looking for online dogfights just look up to the top of this page at ' Post your CFS3 IP games here' http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=27318 , everyday games are posted here check/refresh ofton . All are welcome in the games , to join you need the same CFS3 version as the host so all games here are using the basic CFS3 with the 3.1 and 3.1a updates [from MS] installed in that order. The host will the start of the game with 'GAME ON' and the games end with 'GAME OFF' . Find an active game, go to your CFS3 games' multiplayer and type in the host's IP number , hit join ,and away you go.
Microsoft makes sure nothing is easy so if you are running Vista the fix is here - http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=9007
-and if you are running Win7 the fix is here-http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=25661

And if you tire of the planes in the stock CFS3 , every Wednesday night Warthog hosts a ETO dogfight - http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=27319

Many hosts also offer TEAMSPEAK [a free download] during thier games to be able to chat online .

One last thing if you don't finish your off your kill you should , or you can be sure Zaraspook will do it for you. The rest of the flyers are above such reprehensible behaviour :}

Oh Cool, thank you very much for the informations!

After new year I'll look forward to this online dogfights...
But there is no problem with a PC using XP, isn't?
And about those upgrades, I did the 3.1a first, I'm screw now? =( How should I proceed?

Thanks

So how can I fix what I've done? I installed the 3.1a before the 3.1. I need to uninstall the game then install it again?

Thanks in advance

Uunnhh I don't know , you need one of them there smart ones like Grizzy or Tailwind or Blacksheep Ghost to answer that for you. Until they step in to help I'd try to join a online game with your CFS3 as it is now , if you get a mismatch error then we'll wait for the big boys to step in and help out and let us know if there is a fix or just go ahead and reinstall and update again . Regarding XP , nope there is is no problem using XP and joining online games . Regarding Tailwind, Grizzy and BS Ghost I think mom always liked them better than me , why else would she have given them all the brains and two eyes .

:kilroy:Soudwave, here's the proper procedure:

1. Install CFS 3 normally.

2. Install the 3.1 Update (CFS3UpdateEng.exe).

3. Install the 3.1a Update (ACUpdate.exe)

I highly recommend complete un-install and a complete re-install.

1. Uninstall CFS3 normally.

2. Delete the Combat Clight Simulator 3.0 folder from its location in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name (Your Name)\Application Data\Microsoft.

3. Delete the Combat Flight Simulator 3.0 folder from its location in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name (Your Name)\My Documents.

Note: Despite having the exact same name, these two folders contain entirely different files, and both folders need to be deleted before re-installing CFS3.

If you can't find the Application Data folder in the User Nam (Your Name) folder, you need to do the following:

To find XP Application Data folder, open your Windows XP browser and look for the Tools tab at the top. Click on it and look for Folder Options. Click the View tab and look for “Hidden files and folders”. Make sure “Show hidden files and folders” is checked. While you’re here, also make sure that “Hide extensions for known file types” is unchecked.

I hope this helps.:d
