  • Mr. Scrubs GMAX FS 9 Henschel Hs 126 has been converted to CFS 2! This has been one of those largely absent aircraft type in the Senior Sim.

    The Henschel Hs 126 was a German two-seat reconnaissance and observation aircraft of World War II. The Hs 126 was well received for its good short takeoff and low-speed characteristics which were needed at the time. It was one of the most important aircraft in the early years of the war as a short-range reconnaissance aircraft, but was soon superseded by the general-purpose, STOL Fieseler Fi-156 Storch and the medium-range Focke-Wulf Fw 189.

Thanks for the head´s up Jagd.

I think there already was an Hs126 for CFS2. I remember I had one wich was used as a tow for a DFS230. But it will be better to have an option and may be it´s a more up to date version.

Good morning,

Sc7500 mentioned some tweaking this bird may need...has anyone else had any problems?

Here are his notes: AF Scrub's new release [CFS2 Henschel Hs-126.zip] required some airfile tweaking to get help improve it.....

The cockpit was set up with unused gauges... the gun placement seemed to be somewhat inaccurate... And with the "as delivered" CFG file the plane hopped all over the runway then exploded.

Here - these are some tweaks I tried to make some improvements to this German STOL spotter plane.
 
I had already converted the Hs 126 but am thrilled to see that A.F. actually uploaded a CFS2 version. It is a major improvement on the former CFS2 version on many levels not the least of which is framerates. It could use a few new skins.
Also, A.F. also did an Hs 123 which converts nicely but would be more useful in CFS2 in a 'clean' version without modeled in bombs & drop tank.

...That you mean a more thorough removal of the external stores by SCASM editing [Vs Alpha exclusion] is in order ?

Or you could merely contact 'Scrubbie' about doing the fix ;). He has been very helpful & cooperative with requests of this nature.

Quite So, Sir - however, I was able to erase the bombs quite easily. No need to poke the Scrub just yet...

That drop tank mapping is proving elusive - I'm gonna hafta break out the pattern finder.... And add two cannon barrels to the wings...

BTW - it converts nicely, but has some very touchy elevator action - I'm gonna lower their effectiveness by 1/3rd and see how she flies.

Please dispose of the cannons altogether! I'll make some add-ons with FSDS for them what thinks they wants 'em. It would be cool to have both a 'spatted' & 'no-spat' version however. I used the airfile & the special sounds from the Doug Westfall version of the Hs 123.
