HU Another Auster

Actually Huub, if you cared to notice, you would find that Dave has built three different versions of the Auster Autocar -- the J5b (Gypsy powered) and the J5v Lycoming powered - the latter being issued in two
slightly different configurations based on REAL aircraft currently flying in the UK. they all feature different panels, sound sets and flight dynamics (the two 5vs fly differently due to various aerodynamic tweaks to the 60 year old airframes). so wether it is "so good" is a matter of semantics -- wether they are accurate to the prototype aircraft or just fictional rebuilds of aircraft is another question entirely , n'ces pas?

Yep, Dave has built three versions and all three are excellent models from panels to sounds to dynamics. I think there are more to come including the Antarctic on skis.

The model is good enough to be announced twice....

The title "Another Auster" was supposed to indicate that it was, err another Auster, this one with the DH Gypsy engine as opposed to the earlier release which had a Lycoming engine.

I have a soft spot for the old girl as I learnt to fly on J1's and J5's way back in the late 1960's. Not the nicest aeroplane to fly, or the easiest, but I learnt a lot from it.

Yes there is an AOP6 in everyones future

Dave was kind enough to show us a couple of screenies -- theres one posted at CBFS -- I got a quick peek at the early VC very very spartan -- as to the other versions -- well thats up to himself -- He plans to keep building Austers until the are ALL covered, including the elusive Agricola.

Thought I knew a little about the Austers, but never heard of the Agricola. Looks like a rugged workhorse.
