The spanish community is very active in photorreal sceneries. For FS9 they have
'Real Spain' (works too in FSX).
For FSX users, they developed sceneries with 1px/meter. You can find them
here.
Akesoft is another developer with interesting freeware sceneries.
And the last developer is
J.C. Rodero, who bring us, more interesting sceneries.
Not really knowing much about the place I did a little 'googling'; seems the huge runway is due to it's use as an SAC bolthole
during cold war.
I'm wondering if it was also one of the Space Shuttle secondary landing facilities too ?

Yeah....Torrejon was home of the SAC's 16th Air Force and later in the sixties, home of the USAF's 401st TFW. USAFE withdrew Torrejon in 1996.
Torrejon is the most important airbase of the Ejercito del Aire (EdA for short, often called abroad 'Spanish Air force'). The airbase is near the Capital of the country, Madrid.
Torrejon is the HQ of:
12th Fighter Wing. Equipped with 24 F/A-18 (called C.15).
43 Group. Equipped with 17 Canadair CL215/215T/415, for firefighting purposes.
45 Group. VIP Transport for the head of State (royal family) and president of the government. They have 2 Airbus A310 and 5 Falcon 900.
