Yes, I am a Mac user.....!

I still have an XP on my PC (I still like XP) and Vista on my laptop.... I ordered W7 and I am finally upgrading my laptop to Windows7, in a few hours.... or so....

I heard W7 has a lot to offer..... :icon_lol:

:pop4:

i predict you buying another copy soon after lol..

yes its good i use both mac and Win 7 and i have to say win 7 is the best to use when you use both mac and windows

My household has been XP-free free since October.

Don't miss the old thing at all. Seven is just too good.

My copy arrived yesterday, I am planning to have it on the laptop first.... Then I decide to have it on the Mac and the other PC....

I heard a lot of positive feedback about it! :ernae:

thanks guys!

I too, have bought Windows 7 recently although I haven't loaded it yet. I am still waiting for a new hard drive to arrive and will install it on that.

I had to reinstall XP last week as my old installation was so corrupt it didn't work.

I have just bought a PC for my wife so she can work from home and not hog my PC. It will come with Windows 7 installed so we will either learn how to use it together, or hack each other off.

If you're both running W7 the new Homegroups feature makes it easy to network and share files.

Although I was excited to get Win7 .I am not that overly thrilled with it.

i don't use all the features it offers. It just need to boot and launch my games if I ever get to play again..!

Sounds cool ChaCha!

I hope W7 works great for you.

:applause:

My brother, captain red, has it on his laptop and loves it. I asked him if he wants Windows XP put on it, he said 'no way, I love this'...

I hope it all goes smoothly.

I heard a lot of positive feedback on W7... I wanted to have an XP on the laptop but, I thought an upgrade would be a cool thing to do.... :jump:

How is Captain Red doing? Is he behaving good lately? :isadizzy:

Chacha~ Have you taken the plunge yet? If so, let us know how it went...If not, keep us posted! I'll be sticking to XP for a little bit longer.

Eli, I know some in here have complained about W7 but I have found it to be just as stable as XP or better. It is very user friendly and as fast as I am concerned faster and more stable. No matter what I have thrown at it , I haven't seen a problem. Vista had problems working with some of the older programs because the way the kernel was set up. They did away with this and also you can use just about unlimited ram. It also overclocks well. All of my Vista and XP programs have worked fine..Mike

Enjoy, ChaCha!

You know where to contact me if you've got any questions/problems with your installation! :engel016:

ChaCha,

A small tip, you say that you have Vista on your laptop. When you update your laptop go for a clean install and not the update option. I installed Win 7 twice on my laptop, the first time as an update and I didn't see any improvement over Vista with the PC taking approx. 2.5 minutes to shut down. Being disappointed with what seemed like no performance gain I then bit the bullet and went for a clean install. What a difference the laptop is now much quicker and shuts down in about 18 seconds. I didn't have Flightsim or anything really heavy on the laptop (which is only about 6 months old) before the install and had kept it clean by deleting temporary files etc. on a regular basis. My only conclusion is that removing the original manufacturer's (Toshiba) software plus Vista has made the big difference.

Best of luck:ernae:

Bill,

Simple answer is that no you cannot use unlimited RAM with Win 7 32bit it still has the same limitations as previous 32bit versions of Windows. If someone wants to use more RAM then go for the 64bit version.

:wavey::wavey:

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!

I did it.....

Yes, my laptop is not faster like brand new spanking new.... I am still learning the features... And Yes, it is people friendly.... so cool Moe...

Raptor,

I did a clean install, One of the geeks informed me to do just that....

Thanks Kiwikat.... I will holler if I need help, I like your Avatar....

C9G,

So far all I can see is that W7 is way way way better than Vista..... and a quicker boot and reboot.... SOH is still slow though, but Windows 7 is the way to go... I still like XP, but I can update my PC from XP to W7.... I can say go fot it.... :ernae: :ernae:

Bill I have read people running as much as 16 gig of ram....why they need that much I didn't know.Vista was a hog compared to W7. When W7/64 and 32 bit beta first came out I enjoyed all the new features and the way it was set up. If you aren't aware of all the new features I would strongly suggest looking at some of the videos they have released showing all the cool things W7 offers.
Mike,

Can you run unlimited RAM with W7 32Bit?
