I cannot download a A6M5 with 4 cannons

A few more ideas if needed ...

I started work on the A6M5c? A6M7? I don't know but I started on it!

I have to get this into CFS2 and check the aileron, flaps and gear animations. This is just the main Exterior model. I havn't started on the VC (I should be able to use most of the VC from the A6M3 Zeros I did) and the LODs.

Yes sir, that will be neat!!

Some thoughts:
It seems that the left fuselage gun was omitted for those last three production A6M versions, but I'm not positively sure of it. The last version with the left fuselage gun seemed to be the A6M5b with fuselage left 7.7mm, fuselage right 13.2mm, and two wing 20mm.

Some Possible Payload Configs:

A6M5c - centerline drop tank and two wing 60 kg bombs
A6M6c - centerline drop tank and eight wing rockets
A6M7 - centerline 250/500 kg bomb, two wing drop tanks and eight wing rockets

Whatever works well for CFS2, I am just thinking some historical stuff.

Cheers

All LODs done. I have to check the model to make sure parts are linked right and for game crash also related to bad part links.

You wouldn't know the amout of ammo the A6M5c, A6M6c and A6M7 had? I can guess that the 20mm didn't change from the A6M5 but I can't find a ammo count for any of the 13.2 mm....

Thanks Allen! this was fantastic.

I reedited the .dp of A7M2 reppu, and add a japan rockets, We can add it to your new A6M7.

The ammo info is there in some of the information links that I uploaded.I will research because I not remember.

Pd: Like kelticheart I think that you can add a small tube in the nose of the wings guns, to get it a differentiation.

For example this is a image of guns of P-35, you can understand easy about the final nose termination that I said. But I am grateful with the details that you've already added.
I just give an idea.

I haven't any listings for rpg's in any of my books at hand.

My knowledge is that the 7.7mm is what Max has stated 680 rpg. and that would probably be the maximum rounds as some sources state 500 rpg which probably is nominal rpg.

The 20mm had belt feeds with 125 rpg starting with the A6M5a. The A6M3 Model 32 & 22 and A6M5 Model 52 (20mm) had drum magazines at 100 rpg. The A6M2 had drum magazines at 60 rpg according to my knowledge and web info.

The 13.2 mm fuselage gun for the A6M5b is stated to be 240 rounds by several web sources. I don't have any rpg for the 13.2 fuselage and wing guns for the later version A6Ms. Best guess, considering weight and power of the A6M versions, is that the fuselage gun may have retained its 240 rounds (of the A6M5b). The wing mounted 13.2 guns maybe between 200-240 rounds. Just my best guess though.

Some sources state the wing drop tanks for the A6M7 are 150 liter capacity. A thought is that perhaps the 350 liter tanks were designed for the A6M8 which had a more powerful engine, or that the 350 tank be carried without added bomb weight. Seems perhaps two 350 tanks might add a bit much weight for the power of the A6M7 with rockets and/or a 250 kg bomb. The fuel weight by itself for 350 liters is close to 555 pounds.

there are many rocket mounts crated to can be added, and in grey color and two parts no one like the A7M2 that I posted. So I beliave that it is not a important thing, it is a accesory and is optional, the mayority of the aircraft not load rockets, was more eassy get a 250kg bomb that a rockets kit, in this years of the war.But is more important the distinguish the cannons of the maching guns, because look like equal in new Allen´s model, and only the A6M8 have 4 cannons, for this reason i posted the P-35 gun, like an inspiration to work eassy,is a simple tube similar to cannon but with a small tube in the nose, to get it a look of machingun.

The wing mounted 13.2 guns maybe between 200-240 rounds

Yeah, I think similar in this point, 240 is ok. 300 sound like full full load and not a standar load.

13.2 rpg update

I just ran across some A6M5c, A6M6c and A6M7 data that states the rpg for all the armament. Looks plausible to me.

Two fixed forward-firing 0.79 inch Type 99 Model 3 Mark 4 cannons i the wings mounted, 125 rpg,
two fixed forward-firing 0.52 inch Type 3 machine-gun in the wing mounted, 240 rpg and
one fixed forward-firing 0.52 inch Type 3 machine-gun in the upper fuselage decking, 230 rounds

Two 7.7 mm Type 97
(680 rpg) or optional one only 13.2 mm Type 3 (approx 240 rpg) mounted in the cowl (like A6M5B).I think that the only 13.2 mm upper fuselage was optional.

meaby the japan use parts of a6m5A and a6m5B, so there are some A6m7 with two 7.7mm and some with one 13.2 mm mounted in the cowl. The 13.2mm can be make ,reworking the texture, with adding a bigger hole.

Yes, due to part shortages toward the end of the war mixing and matching parts with whatever was available was done, and was also done in Germany to some aircraft to my understanding. This appears to be evident in some photographs of specific aircraft types that do not quite match the specifications given for that aircraft type. I think the data specifications given are for that particular aircraft version design as it would be off of the factory assembly if all the parts and assembly procedures were available. Another thing of course is errors in information, so gathering info from several sources and comparing them helps to eliminate inacurate data...anyway that's how I try to do it.
