... I got distracted ....

How embarrassing!

It's not the groundcrew Do24K, but another one (who knew there were two?) made by Wim Regeer, originally FS2004, converted for CFS2.

We'd exchanged e-mails & I never thought he wasn't Groundcrew & ...

:toilet:

... well, the original read me is still in the file.

Think I got the original plane on simviation, probably a copy on avsim as well.

Sorry guys ... the sentiment was there, just goofed a bit on the execution ...:pop4:

Dorniers

Ha ha! That's a hoot.

Just to add some more confusion, W. Regeer also made a CFS 2 only Do 24cfs. I'm unable to sim due to my current wherabouts, but I'll look at the .bmp files and see if they match up.

Update: The .bmp files are titled the same for the CFS 2 only bird and the new textures just uploaded for Regeer's FS 9 conversion DO 24. On the face of it, they should work for both the conversion and the dedicated CFS 2 plane.

that's right both use the same textures. Just tested them in FS9 and CFS2

the Fs9 version is Do24Kv3.zip at Flightsim.com, Avsim and Simviation
the CFS@ version is Do24Kcfs at Simviation CFS2 section page 81.

Or do a search with the correct name Regeer.

Brilliant! Whatever the source, it's a beauty!

My computer had a lethal flu, so I'm rebuilding all my stuff now (no, of course, no recent back up: I'm a professional :blind:)

Well, this is a good re-start of my collection! And the recovery of my work on a NEI campagn..........

Hi,

i wasn't aware that one wasn't working in the water, so had a quick check and indeed the cfs2 is sticks on the water for ever. As i don't fly cfs2 for a long time i didn't notice this. Probably there is a conflict with the aircraft.cfg file and the do24.air file. A quick solutions is to replace the aircraft.cfg file with the one attached to this replay.

Thanks Wim,:ernae:

Pretty sure I had downloaded the CFS2 version from Simviation, & I hadn't noticed any trouble with it ...:monkies:

Hi,

did some more testing in CFS2 (installed it again) and worked out some mods on the configuration and air file.
Need some feedback on the outcome, any testpilots around?
attached are the revised files.

Hi Wim

I decided to take you up on flying this .In fact I flew it and the ground crew version. The ground crew version flew well .nice and slow movments as you would expext in a large plane of this size. In your plane I got the impresion that I could dogfight somebody. The controls were very responsive like I was flying a P-51. Somthing has to be done about that. the finish was beautiful. At some time some one made an Aussie skin for the groundcrew model. In order to keep Ravinna Happy perhaps one could be made for this one as well. The CFG file you provided in this thread is asking for the texture to be named 1941. The texture file is not named 1941. Therefore the aircraft did not show up in cfs2 until I uncovered this fact. Also the sound file was aliased to a B-25 of some sort but not the cfs2 one. As the Do24K used Wright Cyclones a decent sound file should not be too hard to pull together for your plane as well as the ground crew plane.I liked your props a lot better then the Ground crew plane. Kelti's talants could certainly be put to use on the ground crew plane. The ground crew plane has a nice detailed interior. It also has a problem with the horozontal elevator. pull back the stick and it flips sideways instead of up.I think your plane is beautfully made and also I had no problems with it sticking to the water.
Have a good one.
