I have a lil problem with a mission

I'm working on my Belgian missions and have come across a strange occurrence. I'll explain.

I start my engines, and start my takeoff. Just about the time i'm off the ground i get a message that my wingmen have crashed (also hear the explosions).

I have watched what happens to them. Once they start their take off the all of a sudden go nose down and crash. I've tried everything to fix this. Its not the planes because on my other missions the work fine. The only thing that is different with this one, is that i have an AI takeoff before I do.

Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
 
Blood_Hawk23, your emphasis lately has been on WWI action, so i'm assuming that you're using grassy takeoff points in those old airfields. If that's the case, you should note that the grass tends to yield unpredictable results with AI takeoffs -- some models do better than others. You might want to check the impact damage thresholds for the undercarriage in the aircraft.cfg to make sure the values are up to the task of protecting the gear on rough surfaces.

now the thing is, i'm using the same field and aircraft on my other missions and everything goes off without any trouble. and the first AI, which is a different plane altoghter has no problems.

i will look at what you suggested. thank you again.

didn't help. It has to be something i have in the mission. I'll start over with it and change things up. its realy odd. they start to go like normal but as soon as the tail comes off the ground they nose over. i've even tried putting the MOI back to the original values with no luck.

i'm flying out of my Les Moeres airfield using the nieuport 16 with my belgian set.if anyone has it and want to try the mission out let me know and i'll send it to you.

i'll shelve it for now and start on the next one.

Try pushing the the CG back. You can edit the reference_datum_position and empty_weight_CG_position.

though i didn't move those i did move the station Load.

station_load.0= 170.000, -0.900, 0.000, 0.000 (was 0.00)

basicly i moved the pilot back. they took off beautifully.

I wonder if i messed up the DP with the ammo weight. that gives me something to look at. now i have to look at all of my AI edits. ugh!!

When I did the Sopwith_1½_Strutters I found out WWI aircraft CG is vary touchy. DP ammo weight or bombs can mess thing up quicky.

I have found that out rather guick.

in a way i'm glad i stummble across this goof up of mine. I have fixed a few other problems that were creeping up. now i can get back to my missions. I have to test a couple of aircraft but i think for the most part they will be all set.
