Is there a stil missing WWII airfield in the UK of the eight or ninth that you would like to see in FS9? Let me know, I will see if I can fill the gap.....

RAF Ibsley / USAAF 347?

Don't know if thats anywhere, I should think not as it's a gravel pit now.

All thats left is the tower and a few buildings that were used as mess/accomadation (requesitioned).

I've got nothing to go on that one......From what I know this was a RAF base, not a eight or ninth base. Another one?

Hi, Cees!

How about Chelveston, Station 105, home of the 305th BG?

A good friend of mine's father was a tail gunner in the 305th. His AC went down due to mechanical trouble, forcing them to spend the last year of the war in a Stalag. He passed away 2 years ago.

If Still Interested Cees!!

And Covering other airfields used by the 8th Air Force:-

Hope this helps you find one you have not covered yet.

Mike

Upottery was home to the 439th Troop Carrier Group, the same group that dropped the 101st Airborne into Normandy on D-Day. I'm pretty sure this hasn't been covered as yet, and along with other troop carrier bases, would be great for the MAAM C-47.

Cheers

I will start with the first two suggestions. The rest has to wait. Thread closed. Gary: I already did Great Ashfield!

happy building Cees, its been a while, looking forward to some new airfields.

Wow Cees where have you been? Just came across this thread and now I have places to fly my B-26 a-la in the period. Thanks so much for the scenery. Dad was a B-26 pilot with the 9th 344BG and flew mostly out of Stanstead and Bishops Stortford. D. Radice did a beautiful custom texture for me of his aircraft (B26mann.zip), or at least the one he was assigned after his crash June 4, 1944. Can't wait to load some fields and waft back to 1944. Thanks again!!:jump:

There are many beautiful RAF ams USAF airfields, but there are only a few places available for their opponents

Hope you dont mind me butting in here, its just ive been thinking about this my self, Ive just bought a new PC, and as a treat i bought the Flight-Replicas BF109 payware package and figured it needed a home.
I almost finished a fantasy Luffwaffa airfield but unfortunatly lost it in a HD crash a year back, but some of the buildings were saved as FSDS projects, good info on German airfields is pretty hard to find so i may go down the fantasy road again, im just enjoying the sim at the moment and i wont be installing my scenery tools just yet but you never know.
