I have cursed Lockheed Martin many a time...BUT

I find this new V5.2 to be really nice and smooth. In VR it is very smooth and realistic. I find that the graphic memory usage seems to be better. In V5.1 complex aircraft sometimes would run out of graphics memory (8 GB). V 5.2 has yet (knock on wood) to do so.

I run with EA on, which in my neighborhood just means haze. However, this is realistic. Most GA flying I did in RL was hazy and you had to really search for the airport. I now find myself looking, even when I know where it is. Most realistic, I think.

Good job LM!

I like it too. I prefer my Track IR though. The Occulus Rift collects dust in it's case. Reminds me, I need to pull the controller batteries.
LOL

OooH, thanks for that reminder, Sue. I need to do the same with mine. I get airsick using my Occulus Rift, so I have to resort to the Track IR also.

I really do feel sorry for those that get motion sickness in VR it's the only way I fly these days.

I had a Rift CV1 from launch that eventually died, first the headphones packed up, common issue, and eventually wires in the cable started to break due to a kink in it where it clips to the strap.
I tried splicing it but the wires are hair thin and well beyond my amateurish soldering abilities :(

I have a Rift S now and love it.
Lots of flying, P3D occasionally but mainly MSFS now. Driving, a bit of racing but mostly Euro/American Truck Sim, Space exploration in No Man's Sky, that game is gorgeous and the recently released VR version of Car Mechanic Simulator.

I wish I could play more standing up games but my knees and ankles are shot, 40+ years of motorcycling in UK weather.

I've dreamed of VR since I first started PC gaming and am so glad it finally arrived in my lifetime.

If your able to bear with it and get past the motion sickness it's well worth the effort IMO.

Since I was RW forced grounded due to a jerk with a Laser along the TX MX border 3 months ago I have the expertise in VR/AI/AR technology and Medical Science. If your getting Motion Sickness or other issue's. Please take this simple advice from me 20 on and 20 off VR and if you have an Eye Dr let them know of the Experience. Simulators and especially Lockheed's P3D has many benefits over other sims. Many factors can trigger motion problem. The usual culprit is over tuning your sim settings with your vision. those two must be in balance for you the user individually before collectively. Those are things I've learned from my Eye Specialist who also is a Dr with the USAF. Take this from a fellow member who is reduced to legal blindness 20/400 as advise.

I don't know if the dizziness or motion-sickness people experience is due to needing to use glasses or some other reason? If you do use corrective lenses, AKA glasses, they can be hard to impossible to use with glasses. I found an outfit, https://www.vr-wave.store that will make corrective lenses for VR headsets. You send them a copy of your glasses prescription and they send you pop in lenses that match your glasses. I think I paid around $80 for mine. The just push on to the VR camera-lens and are made to fit either the left or right lens. This way you can't get them mixed up if you have a different setting for each eye.

I put mine in and haven't taken them out. I like them.
