I have had FS9 since it came out and loved it from day one but somewhere I lost it. Not physically but in the eyes the eye candy so to speak. I had an ok system a dual core 3 gig Pentium and a 7600 GTS vid card with 2 gigs of Memory. It was ok for what I needed. Last week my video card decided to pop a few capacitors so I decided it was time to rebuild the whole thing. My processor was fine so I kept it and bought a new Watt powersupply and an ASUS PN-D Motherboard and Gigs of G Skill DDR2 Memory as well as an EVGA 9800 GT w/512 on board.

After installing everything I started up fs9 and wow. The colors the smoothness of the game Its all there and just awsome. Stuff I have never seenand the sunsets are so realistic looking. I cant really explain it. I have found FS9 again.

yup, agreed! FS9 is a beautiful looking sim when all the right addons/settings/tweaks are applied.

I have mine installed on an ex-workstation which i used for running 3D applications, so it blazes at around 100fps with ultra smooth movements. It almost feels like the real thing because everything is running at realtime (trackIR matching perfectly to headmovement w/ zero delay).

I've also uninstalled a ton of planes and just kept a handfull of my favorites (mostly planes with heavy systems simulation and realistic VCs such as the B200). This way i really get to learn each plane and fly them often.

FS9 really is an incredible sim.
